Hamrahi 1963

Hamrahi is a 1963 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1963. The film is directed by T. Prakash Rao, produced by Prasad under banner named Prasad Productions.

Shekhar (Rajendra Kumar) is a fun-loving man. Mahesh (Mehmood) is his brother. Shekhar thinks that he can make any girl dance to his tunes. One day Shekhar sees Shardha and falls in love with her but Shardha doesn't approve of him. She does get married to Shekhar but is very unhappy about her marriage. On the other hand Shekher loves Shardha very much.

Gradually Shardha realises that Shekhar is a changed man and she starts loving him. However, just when all is fine between them, there is a twist in the tale. A crime takes place which affects both of them. Will they be able to come away from this situation, unscathed?

Public Prosecutor Dharamdas has two sons. Elder son Mahesh is married and is a lawyer without a brief. Younger son Shekhar, a dandy playboy is a medical student in Bangalore. Pursuit of beautiful girls and carnal pleasures is his whole time job and several Westernised, sophisticated girls,lured by his charms and wealth, vie with one another to flirt with him. One such girl, Hema, is extra smart. A real gold digger, she makes Shekhar writes her love-letters and then presents herself as an expectant mother before Shekhar and his father. The ruse is a sheer black-mail but Shekhars uncle, a shrewed judge of men and matters, out smarts Hema and makes her confess that she was telling a lie. Shekhar is now extricated from the clutches of the gold-digger. . Now, though settled in business by his uncle, Shekhar still remains an un-relenting playboy. Woman, the easiest conquest for him, is merely a thing to play about and to forget. One day, however, he comes across a simple Indian girl, Sharada, a teacher devoted to her job and her poor father. Shekhar follows her but all his attempts are brought to naught by the dogged determination of Sharada. Sharada is one girl he cannot conquer. This is the first defeat of the playboy and this is also the end of the playboy in him. First time Shekhar has discovered love and he had come to learn that a right woman is not a thing to play about. She is an object of love and honour. Overwhelmed by his love for Sharada, he ultimately creates circumstances, whereby Sharada is forced to marry him. . On the wedding night, however Sharda blunty tells him, " You have succeeded in conquering my body but you will never succeed in winning my love". This stunning remark transforms Shekhar into a spirited, strong -willed man. he swares "Whatever may happen I will not touch you, till I win your heart." .
