Hathat Nirar Janyo is a 2004 Indian Bengali drama film released on 2004. The film is directed by Subrato Sen, produced by Kanchan Dutta.

A triangular love story between the 3 main protogonists, Rani (Jaya Seal), Tapash (Arindam Seal) & Abinash (Bickram Ghosh). Or preferably it may be termed as an invisible flow of currents amongst the three. Rani & Abinash were lovers from school life which met maturity at University life. Rani, an ardent lover of Abinash eagerly vibed to marry him & settle down. But Abinash, a very talented musician had an entirely different view of love & the institution of marriage . A born bohemian Abinash refuses to marry Rani and inspite of loving her & departs to USA. In the meanwhile Rani marries Tapash a very high ranking executive. They have a 5 year old son Gublu (Saptanshi Dasgupta). Abinash returns from the west & the two enstranged lovers meet at a bylane after 6 1/2 years. Abinash now a renowned singer tries to convince Rani by every means that he still loves her at lot & wants to have a physical alliance with the latter just for single time. Rani refuses verbally. But the buried love of Rani for Abinash rears up & she dedicates herself at the hands of Abinash. Rani knew Abinash's active involvement with Maya, (Tina Majumdar) the present women in Abinash's life. But nevertheless she can't withhold herself. The lovers pass all barriers. Naturally Rani's new inerests doesn't remain a secret & her stealthy activities are reported to her ever busy spouse Tapash. Tapash is shell shocked after receiving the news. He thrashes Rani vocally on returning home & emphasises Rani's selfishness & irresponsibility. Rani realises her fault but she just can't forget her first love. Abinash on the other hand moves on atrociously. In the end Rani & Tapash come to know about Abinash's marriage news through the newspaper headlines. Rani realises that to Abinash she is not a physical entity but that of poetry. The strayed couple speak over the phone for the last time. Rani congratulates Abinash for his marriage. She keeps down the receivers & is determined to erase the past & to errect the future; a meaningful & secure future.
