Heer Ranjha Punjabi is a 2009 Indian Punjabi film released on 2009. The film is directed by Harjit Singh.
: The story starts with Heer (played by Firdous). She is a girl born into a wealthy family. Then the story is further shifted to Ranjha (played by Ejaz). He is the youngest of four brothers, whose journey from his own village takes him to the village where Heer lives. This guy is ignored by the wives of his brothers. It is here he meets and falls in love with her after she offers him work tending cattle. But, the story brings in a twist when her jealous uncle Kaido has other plans and will stop her to make sure this marriage does not happen. It is now here that Heer is subsequently forced to marry another man, Saida Khera. But, Ranjha, reciting the name of "Allah", eventually finds her and they are reunited. But, things don't work as he is arrested by the police. But again things are not right and on their wedding day, however, Heer's jealous uncle Kaido poisons her. Ranjha after hearing Heer's soul starts screaming his name comes to realize that her uncle Kaido has killed her. The story is then ended on the terms that Ranjha kills Kaido with his own walking stick and then collapses and dies meeting Heer in the afterlife. Their happiness does not last long, as Ibad is arrested by the police, although he is soon freed and permitted to marry Heer On their wedding day, however, Heer's jealous uncle Kaido poisons her, Ranjha after hearing Heer's soul screaming his name comes to realize that her uncle Kaido has killed her, in the film climax Ranjha kills Kaido with his own walking stick and then collapses and dies meeting Heer in the afterlife.
