Hello Kolkata 2008

Hello Kolkata is a 2008 Indian Bengali romance, drama film released on Aug 22, 2008. The film is directed by Manoj Michigan, produced by Sandip Agarwal.

The movie "Hello Kolkata" focuses on four couples - Raima (Swastika Mukherjee) and her husband Pratick Gupta (Amitabha Bhattacharya); Pratik's elder brother Partha Gupta (Sudip Mukherjee) and his wife Shila (Srilekha) the other two couples are Animesh (Rudranil) his wife Gita and Anjali (Rimjhim) and her fiancé Rahul (Indrajit). Pratik is a manager of a call centre, his daily drinking is the main problem of his family. Each night after drinking he misbehaves with Raima, even in his elder brother’s marriage anniversary party he insults her publicly. One night after drinking Pratik beats her up and the next morning Raima leaves with their daughter Ashi to her parents and decides to get separate from Pratik. Pratik also realizes his mistake but its too late then.
Pratik’s elder brother Partha and his wife Shila are happily married couple but need a child desperately. But according to medical reports Partha has some problem for which Shila can’t conceive in a normal way, any artificial way has to be taken. This news depresses Partha but Shila’s love and support helps him to overcome this challenge.
Animesh is an insurance agent in the group of Partha Gupta. As he is a non-performer his salary is much low than his colleagues. His wife Gita wishes a comfortable life but Animesh can’t fulfill her dreams. The distance among their relation increases as Gita continuously blames him for being a failure and refuses to listen all his excuses. Ultimately one day he looses his job and thinks to commit suicide. While Gita realizes the miserable condition of her husband she stands as a support for Animesh and their relation regains its worth.
Anjali is a team leader in a call centre, Pratik Gupta is her boss. She loves Rahul and wants to stay with him in Bangalore after their marriage, as Rahul gets an offer from Bangalore. But Rahul wants his wife to work, so he fine with the idea to stay separate after marriage. Anjali desperately applies for her transfer in Bangalore but it goes in vain, and ultimately she resigns. Rahul was angry with her reaction. In this mean time as Raima leaves Pratik he realizes the value of love and relation and thus instead of accepting Anjali’s resignation he assures her transfer.
All the four stories complete and resolve in sea shore – thus she plays a major role in solving the problem of relations. The emotional and sometimes complicated conjugal relationship is the crux of the film but director has provided perfect endings for all the four stories.
