The special effects are quite overwhelming. Some of the scenes send a chill down your spine. Many scenes resemble a Hollywood-like experience, which is hardly found in Hindi horror flicks. The enthralling opening scene depicts darkness and morose to perfection. It's like Sin City revisited and makes director Virani look promising. Despite average performances from Bobby and Mugdha, much of the credit goes to the production team. Help could have been more convincing and edgy just by doing away with the unnecessary songs. After watching the film, one wonders why its promotion was so off. Mugdha's bikini shot sure did not make the film look like a horror film.

Director Rajeev Virani has shot a number of sequences very well. The execution of the subject is truly stylish. The writing vacillates between interesting and been-there-seen-that kind of situations consistently. The songs are okay. Cinematography [Dhimant Vyas] is eye-catching. Bobby pitches in a sincere performance. Mugdha shows marked improvement over her previous performances. Shreyas Talpade enacts his part well. Jyoti Dogra is efficient. The actor enacting the role of Mugdha's father is adequate. On the whole, HELP is at best an ordinary attempt.

Bobby Deol seems bored. Really bored. And you wouldn't blame him for it. For the poor soul is saddled with a sad script that has nothing exciting to offer in terms of characterisation and drama. All that it demands from him is to stand by and watch wife Mugdha Godse go into paroxysms or vacantly stare at nothing in particular, when the possession takes over. Small wonder then, he mostly seems to sleepwalk or desperately tries to keep a straight face

What utter tripe. Help is indeed the correct title for this terrible atrocity, which masquerades as a film. A supposed horror cum thriller, Help actually makes you laugh cum shriek in sheer disgust cum anger at the relentless hamming cum stupidity unfolding on screen. The story is totally ridiculous, the acting universally mediocre, the production design sub-standard, most horror scenes are lifted while the direction is rank amateurish.

Bobby and Mugdha are good in the horror scenes; ‘Kehna Hai’ is a good number.
