Henna 1991

Henna is a 1991 Indian Bollywood romance film released on Jun 28, 1991. The film is directed by Randhir Kapoor, produced by Rita Anchan.
The story moves after an accident that happened and caused memory loss of Rishi Kapoor. He is seen in Kashmir. There he falls in love with a girl, Heena inspite of all those India-Pakistan wars. Tensions arise and then Pakistan considers him as an Indian spy. Heena lives with her father near the Jhelum valley. She lives with her widowed father and three brothers: Ashraf, Razzak, and Zaman; and Razzak's wife, Najma.One day, they find a body near a beach. They take this male body to their place. But, while he is sleeping, he only calls himself as Chand. Now, Heena takes care of him and soon both fall in love with each other. Now, Heena wants to get married to Chand and soon a marriage ceremony is arranged for them. But, before their marriage, he comes to know that he is not Chand and not a Muslim. But, he is an Indian. There starts the ultimate tragedy of life.

Henna begins with a businessman Chandar (Rishi Kapoor) living in Srinagar who loves his fiance Chandini (Ashwini Bhave). Acceptance of all family members including Daddy (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) allows the couple to tie the knot, and it is when Chandar is on his way to his engagement, he meets with an accident. His jeep falls down a river and is later found in Pakistan by Khan Baba ( Saeed Jaffry) and Bibi Gul (Farida Jalal).BIbi Gul restores Chander to good health, but only to learn that he has lost all of his memory. So the Kabila community renames him Chand. Soon,Chand and Heena(Zeba Bakhtiyar) a lovely young Kabila girl, fall in love and plan to get married. Its during his new engagement ceremony that some memories of his life in Srinagar keep coming back to Chander.The Kabila members agree to send back him to his place in India,but at this stage, one corrupt pakistani law official decided to frame Chander as an Indian spy. He is prosecuted. The climax leads up to, (1) Is Chandar will come back to his place?? (2) Or Pakistani govt will do justice to Chandar??(3)What will happen to Heena?

Henna is a story of developing human relationships within the national boundaries and despite that, it is an international love story depicting universal and timeless emotions of love and sacrifice. Love is many-splendoured world with sacrifice as the very centre of this universe. . Chander is a happy go lucky young man who refuses to be bound by any restrictions including that of time. Inspite of his best efforts, he is invariably late in his rendezvous with Chandni - his sweet heart. They love each other immensely and Chandinis parents give their consent for marriage.
