Madhu Roy re-locates to India to study medicine all the way from Bangladesh. She meets with fellow mate Vijay Chatterjee, and after a few doubts they both of them fall in love. Vijay then takes Madhu to introduce her to his mom, who approves of their relationship, and would like to meet with her daddy to finalize their wedding. One day when Vijay's mother goes to meet Madhu in her hostel room, she sees a picture of Madhu with an older man. Then after this, she wants Vijay to break all her relations with Madhu, and will not even talk to her as to why she has changed her mind about their wedding. She then goes to Bangladesh in order to meet the man in the picture with Madhu, and it is here she will find out if Vijay and Madhu are about to perform incest, as both may be bro and sis from the same man - her beau - who she believed died in the early 1970s during the separation when Bangladesh was formed after separating from Pakistan.
