Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Jara Bristite Bhijechhilo (2007)
Arani Sen is a struggling poet who is an idealist, naïve, simple and gullible. He lives with his elder sister and aunt. Arani teaches in a school and on his way to the school he comes across Radha every day and deep in his heart, he falls in love with her. But Radha has to yield to the pressure exented upon her by her uncle who is her guardian after her father's death. She gets married to Ashint, a sadist husband who torments her every night and damages her physiological health to some significat extent. She tolerates every thing very patiently but one day when her mother-in-law continously blames her to be infertile, she reveals that it was her son who is an impotent and shows her the medical report to prove her words. Hell breaks loose when her husband returns. He beats his wife and openly decalres that he has an extra maritial affair with one his collegues only because his wife is sexually frigid. Radha finally leaves her husband's house to save her self respect and comes at her friend's place. Arani is a more or less a known poet now, thanks to the little magazine editor Suchetana Basu and her friend Aparna. Arani falls for Aparna, the cool, urbanite girl and develops a full grown relation with her. But one day he was staying at Suchetana's place over the night along with Aparna. He shockingly discovers the girls in lesbian sexual activities in the darkness of night and feels to be deciaved. He charges Suchetana but she reveals some other ugly facts of reality to him, that Aparna had a sexual relation with her teacher too and she going to marry a multimillionare very soon. She made him understand that he himself lived in a world which was far from reality. Arani's sister after many years being ditched by her greedy ex-lover, falls for one his office collegues, who is weak, feeble and physicallyt vulnerable. They have grown a relation of mutual dependence and empathy, in order to look after each other in their middle age. Radha's friend Rina is a widow but she still feels the presense of her dead husband every where around her. Arani encounters Radha outside the platform all of a sudden, when he is returning to continue as a school teacher there and after he has stopped writting poems being disillusioned with life. He and Radha meet at the riverside after years only to discover the poetry of life has not ended as theyt had thought. Radha once again becomes Arani's inspiration and helps him bring the elixr of life in form of poetry. The shower of life drenches their mind, body and soul again.
