Story
GIRDHAR (GOPI KRISHNA) AND NEELA (SANDHYA) ARE A DANCE COUPLE. DANCE MAESTRO MANGAL MAHARAJ (K. DATE) WANTS HIS SON, A DANCER TO WIN THE COMPETITION AND GET THE BHARAT NATRAJ. THIS COMPETITION IS HELD ONCE EVERY TEN YEARS. TO WIN THE COMPETITION HE HAS TO PERFORM A SOLO DANCE NUMBER AND A 'SHIV PARVATI TANDAV' WITH A FEMALE PARTNER. MANGAL MAHARAJ WOULD LIKE ROOPKALA (CHANDRAKANT) TO BE GIRDHAR'S PARTNER BUT HE REJECTS HER AS HE IS DISAPPOINTED WITH HER. HE THEN DECIDES UPON NEELA WHO IS ALSO A TALENTED DANCER-CUM-SINGER. HE TRAINS HER. HE FINDS OUT THAT GIRDHAR & NEELA HAVE FALLEN IN LOVE AND THEY SPEND MOST OF THEIR TIME TOGETHER INSTEAD OF FOCUSSING ON THEIR TRAINING AND PERFORMANCE. MANGAL DISMISSES HER AS HE IS UNHAPPY WITH HER PERFORMANCE AND INVOLVEMENT WITH GIRDHAR. HE STARTS LOOKING OUT FOR A NEW PARTNER AND DECIDES TO PICK ROOPKALA. ON THE DAY OF THE PERFORMANCE MANGAL (MADAN PURI) BRIBES ROOPKALA AND TELLS HER TO LEAVE THE STAGE AT ONCE. NEELA COMES BACK ON THE STAGE AND THEY BOTH PERFORM WELL AND TAKE AWAY THE BHARAT NATRAJ AWARD.
