Jiban Pradip 1991

Jiban Pradip is a 1991 Indian Bengali drama film released on 1991. The film is directed by Pradip Bhattacharya, produced by Ashok Raychowdhury.

This is a story of a girl and her struggle for existence in the society. Anita and Sunita, two sisters, live in a village. They are in a very poor financial condition after their father's demise. Anita loves Manik. Manik is her childhood friend. Manik loves Anita too. Som Shankar Roy is a zamindar of that village. He calls Sunita in his house for helping her from present conditions. But Som Shankar rapes her. So, in shame Sunita commits suicide. Now Anita becomes alone in the society. Only Manik is with her. Anita has to go to Mili Sen's house in Kolkata. In Kolkata Mili controls a prostitute house. After knowing this Anita runs away from Mili's house. Anita meets with a taxi driver Shankar. After knowing everything Shankar gives shelter to Anita in his house. But the parents and sister of Shankar do not accept Anita mentally, in their house. She then meets with a Christian- Father gomez. Father Gomez, thinks Anita to be his dead daughter Sweety. He gives her shelter in his house. Anita's changes to Sweety. Chowdhury after killing Father Gomez, kidnaps Anita. Manik comes to know about the kidnapping from Anita's well wisher, a group member of Mili's business. Through her, Shankar also comes to know that. They go with police to Mr. Chowdhuty's house and rescues Anita. Mr. Chowdhury commits suicide to escape from police. Anita gets shelter permanently in Manik's heart.
