Jodhaa Akbar is a 2008 Indian Bollywood drama, biographical, romance film released on Feb 15, 2008. The film is directed by Ashutosh Gowariker, produced by Ashutosh Gowariker under banner named Ashutosh Gowarikar Productions.
The story is based on the ancient Jodhaa Akbar’s love story about a marriage of affinity that creates true love between a great Mughal Emperor, Akbar and a Rajput queen, Jodhaa. Politically, success knew no leaps for Emperor Akbar, after having assured the Hindu Kush, he expedited his realm by invasion until his empire continued from Afghanistan to the Bay of Bengal, and from the Alps to the Godavari River. Through an astute blend of resistance, generosity and force, Akbar won the dedication of the Rajputs, the most combative Hindus. But little did Akbar know that when he married Jodhaa, a spirited Rajput princess, in order to further enhance his relations with the Rajputs, he would in turn be commence upon a new journey - the campaign of true love. The offspring of King Bharmal of Amer, Jodhaa grudged being reduced to a mere political pawn in this marriage of accord, and Akbar's biggest challenge now did not merely lie in winning battles, but in leading the love of Jodhaa - a love hidden deep below acrimony and extreme prejudice.
