Jowar Bhanta 1990

Jowar Bhanta is a 1990 Indian Bengali drama film released on 1990. The film is directed by Dulal Bhowmik, produced by Lala Damani.

Bijoy is returning from America to his home land, he owns a tea estate which is not exactly in a good condition. All the workers and labours of the tea estate are suffering. One of Bijoy's brothers Ranjan takes care of the tea estate but he is very dishonest and tries to handover everything to Bijoy. In the meantime Bijoy falls in love with one of the tea estate'e school teacher's daughter Madhabi. When both Bijoy and Madhabi decide to get married, Bijoy's father did not acept this relationship and asks him to leave the house. By this time Bijoy and Madhabi left for Kolkata and lived in a rented house. In between many days passed by, Bijoy's father could understand the sorrow of detachment of his son and finally ask Ranjan to bring them back home from Kolkata. When Ranjan reached Kolkata he found Madhabi was already pregnant. Ranjan in the mean time hired some anti-socials to kill Bijoy, accordingly they went and threw Bijoy's body in the Ganges, but incidently he was saved but lost all his memory. His wife was very depressed when she heard about her husband death, and after somedays she went to Ganga where she meet her father-in-law, but her father-in -law could not recogise her, instead he felt pity for her and brought her to his house with her son Raja. When they arrived Madhabi was recognised by Dashu, their servant. Madhabi asked Dasu to hide her identity in front of her father-in-law. After some days Bijoy regains his memory and come to his house in a disguse taking a driver's job of Ranjan's car. After some days Rajan started his foul play, he kidnapped Raja and asked 50% of Bijoy's father's share of the Tea Estate. When Bijoy saw all this he gave his identity and saved his son. Atlast every thing of Bijoy's empire was rebuilt again and every body was very happy.
