Story


Judge Saheb is a 1989 Indian Bengali family film released on 1989. The film is directed by Pijush Debnath.

A reporter visits Calcutta Mental Hospital for reporting- there the reporter Abhijit Mallick meets a patient called Surov Bose. Sourav claims to him that he was not insane and was forcibly kept at the hospital. He asked Abhijit to bring out his report on the following day's newspaper. Abhijit belived him and wrote about him in the newspaper . A high court judge read the news on Sourav and determined to help him some how. The judge ordered the respective O.C to produce Sourav to court and showcased the Super of the mental hospital. The Super was angry at Abhijit and a police officer visited the hospital and recorded Sourav's statement . Then the prosecution of Sourav's case started at Calcutta High Court. The judge ordered to shift Sourav to Presidency jail for examining his mental condition by a doctor in jail. Sourav's guardian Dibhakar Dutta and the Super met Dr. Sinha, the doctor in jail supposed to examine Sourav. They tried to presuade him to give false report to the court. Dr. Sinha gave real reports, considering the report and Sourav's unwillinguness to return to his home, the judge taking Abhijit's consent ordered Sourav to stay at Abhijit' place . Abhijit's sister fell for Sourav and stopped him from leaving their place. Mrs. Sengupta who used to treat Sourav eailier at mental hospital met Abhijit and Sourav to help get justice. She was aware of Sourav's condition and even tried to give him justice by taking the help of the O.C of the concerned police station. However, the O.C was influenced by Dibhakar Dutta and did not co-operate with Mrs. sengupta. Sourav and Abhijit's sister loved each other. One day Abhijit's sister persuaded Sourav to narrate his past to her. Accordingly Sourav told her that both of his parents were dead a long time back. After his brother-in-law's death by a planned accident by his father Dibhakar Dutta, Dibhakar and his younger son Subhankar tried to snatch away Sourav's property. They started living at Sourav's place forcibly and turned his home into a pub. Sourav's protest were in vain and he was tortured and capitivated by Subhankar's heoligans. Finally, he was put in the mental hospital by Subhankar and his men and they enjoyed his property. Abhijit learnt about Sourav's past from his sister. One day Dibhakar and the super tried to bribe the judge but their efforts failed; meanwhite Sourav and Abhijit's sister were attacked by Dibhakar's men. When Abhijit and the police come to their rescue the hooligans got arrested, considering all evidences, the judge allowed freedom to Sourav from mental hospital and proved Dibakar, Subhankar, Super and O.C , guilty of Sourav's case and ordered them punishment. Sourav lived with Abhijit's sister. .
