Kato Bhalobasa is a 1992 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on 1992. The film is directed by Dinen Gupta.

Dr. Pramathesh Barat, a renowned dental sugeon of Calcutta, nowdays, feels very disturbed as the girls in their families get crazy over his son Aloke who has recently returned from USA. All of them want to marry Alok, so doctor sends his wife and son to Shimultala to keep them away from all the would- be brides. On his way to Shimultala, Alok meets Damayanti, daughter of Satya Bose, a famous businessman. Damayanti – motherless since childhood, a Presidency student, beautiful and desperate –drives her old car to Shimultala. It’s love at first sight for both of them. They reach Shimultala –a beautiful landscape of river, green hills. Their romance gets the touch of this beautiful network. In Calcutta, the mothers of the girls, has not given up yet – they follow Alok to Shimultala with their girls. The old Shimultala lodge soon becomes full with all the girls & their mothers accomodation. It’s a huge previlege for Mr. Chupchap Bose – the manager of this lodge, to make a profit for this season. Minu, Indu, Chanki and others turn Shimultala into a battle field – a fight to marry Alok. Nilkantha, an artist returned from Paris, makes an attempt for Damayanti, but destiny has set a near girl for him. He fails to impress her, while Minu falls in love with him. Within a few days, Nilkanth becomes a close friend of Alok. On the other side, Shimultala turns out to be the most happening place of love – each girl begins to chase and pamper Alok. The situation seems to be terrible and intollerable for him, so he decides to run away to Calcutta. But Chupchap Bose’s request makes him postpone the plan, Chupchap takes the charge of the girls. But Damayanti misunderstands Aloke and rushes to Calcutta with her damaged old car. Alok follows to save her with his bike but the girl meet’s with an accident. She is severely wounded and is admitted to the nearby hospital. Soon the families, rushes to the Shimultala hospital. Aloks father Dr Barat, who reached Shimultala at night, meets the doctor-in-charge and signs a bond for his son's operation. But ironically, he has signed the bond for Damayanti, as the doctor misunderstands him as the wounded girl's father. Suddenly, Alok reaches the hospital and the truth is ultimately revealed to everyone. Satya & Barat – the old pals get together, Damayanti gets over the crisis, and Satya –finally accepts Alok as his would be son in law. After more than two decades, both the families come close to each other.
