Amongst foremost celebrites of Indian Literature, the name of Kavi Kalidas ranks high and above, and still greater is his life story-more fascinating than any written filmed fiction of our times. The literary Prince, desired by royalty, worshiped by playmates, nutured by nature, a parentless child grown into a foolish woodcutter, who later emerged into renowned poet of world classics. . Subjected to unnatural breed and devoid of parental affections Kalidas bore feeble mind and hence slackened at school; though under that feeble mind a languorous desire to learn and excel was always them. Everyone calld him an artless fool, except a little girl calld Pushpavali -Kalis dependable companion at school and home. Their devotion to each other was matchless and ageless, and their admiration for each other meant inspiration. Grown up teenagers both still hebaved like children-so much so that Kali was exterminated from home for intrfering with jugglers mouth-organ and snakes by his foster mother. The devoted friend Pushpavali clinged on to Kalidas on the wild adventures that brought them both to Kashi, where Kalidas worked as a woodcutter and Pushpavali did household job at Kings palace. As the luck would have it, few devotees, passing by, noticed Kalidas chopping the very branch stood on, and considering him dare-devil-foolish lured him into a hostile contest of arms at Kings court, over which he prevailed as winner and won the hand of Princess got upset over his naive and foolish attitude, and out of disgust thrown him out of her chamber. Sudden heaven to earth episode disillusioned Kalidas badly, and he, finding it hard to adopt to worldy says, made a mad attempt at suiced, but he, finding it hard to adopt to worldy ways, made a mad attempt at suicide, but was rescued by everloving Pushpavali in time, who later took him to Ujjain Ashram where Kalidas learnt to write poetry. Absorbing friendship of Pushpavali proved heal over fursteration caused by Princess, and Kalidas attempted his first workd of seasonal tranformation verses- Ritusanhar. The frusteration turned concentration promted great literature subsequently and Kalidass work gained popularly all over. The fame had out-touched the little place by then, and princess too learnt about his achievements. The overgrowing popularity won Kalidas was soon rooted and locked up. Poor Pushpavali shocked over the news ran to plead mercy from Queen Vikramaditya, instead get thrown into river Chhipra for her aggressive outburst. The caused seperation of Pushpavali infumed the poet to write his top-work Meghdoot. The king, larning the truth of Kalidass true love, ordered his release, Princes Vidyottama in search of kalidas had come to Ujjain by then, met Kalidas who greeted her as Guru, (the source of learning) and denied her as his wife. Regreteful Vidyottama called on Kings justice for rights of a wife as per Kings command acquired her right over literary contest between husband and wife.
