Kick isn’t just reinventing Salman’s work portfolio, but it is also going to rewrite box-office figures and previous records set by the actor. Kick is a full on entertainer that will give you the much needed ‘kick’ in cinema halls this weekend!

Kick toh banta hai, boss! The number of times the word ‘kick’ kicks into this heady cocktail of comedy and action, you’d think there’s no word in the dictionary that gives our hero a greater kick than…well, kick.

A full masala entertainer, that Salman Khan has solely carried on his shoulders. The rest of the star cast only adds to the opulence of the movie, like a cherry on the icing of a very delicious cake.

A true blue Salman Khan fan doesn’t need a specific reason to watch his film. For everyone else, this isn’t a mindless film, so breathe a sigh of relief. Yes, it has its flaws, but it’s entertaining in a certain measure. If Bollywood films are your staple diet every week, then you know what to do.

Seen purely in the context of its genre, Kick is an entertainer worth a couple of hours of your time on the weekend; more so if you seriously take to his dialogue ‘dil main ata hoon, samajh main nahi’. The film is endearing in bits, but rational? We’ll let you decide.

Kick, therefore, is the Dhoom 2 of the Salmaniverse. It looks good, moves fast, shows off its superstar. In the world of harebrained Bhai films — Dabanng included — Kick is the best made and the most fun. If you’re a fan, you just hit the jackpot.

Bhai fans are going to have a blast seeing their hero ride a double decker through a crowded street, cross in front of a speeding train knocking off his bicycle, nonchalantly, at the last second, or even jumping out of high-rises. This is a definite treat.

The movie is exactly what it promises – a larger than life Salman Khan movie which the director knows will go down well with his massive fan following. The actor is at ease playing a quirky hero – comic, with a big heart, can beat baddies to pulp as easily as he can romance long legged lasses. If you are a Salman fan – go watch the movie. Don`t expect any ground-breaking revolutionary filmmaking. This is as entertaining as it gets.

Kick maybe Sajid Nadiadwala’s directorial debut and the remake of a Telugu film, but like all Khan movies, this is set to break box office records as trade pundits are predicting going beyond the Rs300 million mark.

I didn’t hate it. If that’s enough encouragement, sure, go watch it. But you were going to anyway, right?

…even if you’re willing to ignore the logic-free story and buy heavily into the cult of Bhai, Kick is bumpy, and far too convoluted to deliver the joyride of a Dabangg. What does work are the thrilling action sequences; Rajat Aroraa’s crackling dialogue; and, above all, Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the wicked Shiv Gajra.

If you belong to the minority, Sajid Nadiadwala offers a decent story, and backs it up with some brilliant performances. Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saurabh Shukla, Mithun Chakravorty and Sanjay Mishra are actors no Bollywood fan would ever want to miss. Salman fan or not, this is a film Bollywood movie lovers will find worth the time and money.

Kick provides a kick only sporadically. For Salman Khan fans, that should be good enough.

For Salman Khan fans, it’s a great show but for others it’s going to be an average affair.

We know that a Salman film is created solely to display his ‘andaaz’ designed to send his fans into a swoon. What makes ‘Kick’ interesting, apart from some unfettered Salman moments, is Siddiqui in full flow.

The film is well shot by Ayananka Bose and it is obvious that big bucks have been spent in making it. Even though I am far from being a Salman Khan fan, I can see why he has such a fan following – he aims to please and does it well. Now, only if someone could cobble together a sensible story for him rather than just rehash South Indian films. At times, Nawazuddin Siddique is one up on Salman; in some of the scenes he is deliciously evil.

Welcome to bizarreland. This is where people do what they want and the audience is expected to digest it with open mouthed admiration. This is the kind of ‘masterpiece’ that would put Robinhood to reconsider his charitable intentions. Because as you know, Bhai rocks.

Kick is harebrained, patronizing and regressive at most points, and makes the age-old error of being a live-action Salman-starrer. Purely as a kiddie flick though, this is passable—if not plausible—entertainment for children that have never been exposed to movies.

…all of Kick feels stilted as if its very aware that it is a Salman Khan film. The songs come in and out in appropriate commercial doses. The cinematography is better than what you would expect from a film of the Salman Khan genre, but that doesn’t give the film as a whole, too many bonus points.

Like all Eid releases featuring Khan, Kick too will probably notch-up record numbers due to its haphazard concoction of romance, comedy, action and drama, and the overwhelming domination of the 48-year-old actor, but the film is only marginally better than other awful Khan films in recent times – Jai Ho, Bodyguard, Dabangg 2. The setting seemed ripe for an entertaining no-brainer, but Kick will remain as forgettable as most money-spinners lately. What’s worst: The villain deserved a much better film.

Kick is unimaginative and unoriginal…

Yawn inducing fare that fails to deliver any kick. Has to be the biggest disappointment of the year! The amount of money you spend on the tickets of Kick should be directly proportional to the how much you hate yourself!

From all Salman Khan movies, you rarely remember any other actor, besides Salman himself, which is just as well, because that is what audiences pay for. This one also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui as the villain who appears in all of four or five scenes. He pitches his performance as high as the rest of the movie. Yet, you can immediately tell, especially when he is opposite Salman, that if this country had great actors for mainstream stars, blockbuster films with scripts as deliberately insane as this one, would begin to seem infinitely more tolerable still.

Salman’s character takes every risk imaginable because he is searching for a kick. An adrenaline rush. Eventually he finds it through a humanitarian cause which adds the proverbial golden-hearted touch to proceedings. The director makes sure he serves everything required to make a Salman Khan fan happy.

As the curtains roll down, we can’t help but notice how it requires a skillset of a different kind to watch Salman’s movies. If you don’t have it in you, please don’t venture out!

Kick is a blockbuster of epic proportions! It entertains audiences of all kinds and classes. It is the kind of film which – to borrow from a dialogue mouthed by Salman Khan in the film – dil mein aati hai aur samajh mein bhi aati hai! With tremendous repeat value too, this one will shake the box-office, set cash registers ringing and ultimately emerge as one of the biggest blockbusters of Indian cinema. It could easily turn out to be the highest grosser of Salman’s career so far!

It’s a really long Salman Khan act—he’s the messiah, the crazy ‘dil se’ man. Just don’t count it as cinema…

Despite some high octane chase sequences on the streets of Warsaw, the film appears a wannabe. Kabir Khan did a better job with Salman in a similar space in “Ek Tha Tiger”.

The film’s downright stupid, a guilty pleasure at best — that once again has Salman do his thing that you’ve seen before. No matter what the reviews say, you’re going to go watch it.

It’s a Salman Khan film. Along with the regular Salman factor, ‘Kick’ has almost all the quintessential pack of masala punches and interesting amalgamation of action, drama, romance, comedy that it becomes a must watch, especially for Dabangg Khan’s fans.
