Lal Pathar 1964

Lal Pathar is a 1964 Indian Bengali drama film released on Nov 06, 1964. The film is directed by Sushil Majumdar.

A group of tourist meet with a old man in Fatepur Sikri of Agra & that old man narrated the story to them. This is a story that took place 35 years back. Zamindar, Kumar Hemodakanto Roy of Roynagar was an M.A in Psycology & passionate for hunting. Once he saved a lady when he was returning from a jungle. After that he come to know that the lady was the wife of Fakirchand, her name is Soudamini, so Hemodakanto sent Soudamini to her family. But the member of her family refused her. Hemodakanto thus brought Soudamini & renamed her as Madhury. Hemodakanto gave all charges of his family to Madhury but didnot marry her. Hemodakanto tried to train Madhury in different subjects but failed & became frustrated. After 10 years of this incident, Hemodakanto fell in love of Sunita, who was educated & a good singer also although Sumita's marriage was almost fixed with Ambarish, who was an engineer and her neighbour. But ultimately Hemodakanto married Sumita and gave more attention to her then Madhury. Now Madhury became jealous of Sumita. She reported Hemodakanto about Ambarish and Sumita's relation. Hemoda became confused. But once Madhury realized her own mistake,she became detached from Hemodakanta. After that Hemodakanto went on a tour with Sumita . In Fatepur Sikri, Sumita disagreed to tell about her desire to Hemodakanto. He misunderstood Sumita. He called Ambarish, he was doubtful of Ambarish and Sumita for a long time. Thus he made a false drama & impelled Ambarish to kill Sumita at Fatepur Sikri. Before death, Sumita told her about her expectation of a child and love of her husband. Hemodakanto repented and tried to commit suicide but incidently he killed Ambarish. After that he became frustrated. Then Madhury came & let him back to his house. After that, every same day of each year, Hemadakanto came to Fatepur to act the same play. At last everyone came to know that the old man and Hemadakanto was the same person.
