Story

Lamhe is a 1991 Indian Bollywood romance film released on Nov 22, 1991. The film is directed by Yash Chopra, produced by Yash Chopra under banner named Yash Raj Films.
The story starts with Viren. While his visit in India, he sees Pallavi and falls in love with her. But, Pallavi is far older than her and she cannot get married to him. Pallavi after the death of her father gets married to a pilot named as Vinod. Both Pallavi and Vinod are in love with each other and they get married to each other. Now days and years pass by, Vinod and Pallavi are blessed with a girl named as Pooja. One day both Vinod and Pallavi are killed in a mishap and they leave their daughter named as Pooja behind. When Viren comes back to India, he gets very shocked when he sees Pooja for the first time. After this, he comes to know that Pooja is Pallavi’s daughter and his mother is killed in a car mishap. Pooja starts liking Viren, but Viren only loved her mother Pallavi and cannot get away from her thoughts.

This Yash Chopra classic explores the precious moments of life … the love, the ecstasy, the complicated yet fulfilling romantic journey, heartbreaks, the joy of seeing your loved one happy, the responsibility…

The movie is based on a rather unusual storyline. Viren (Anil Kapoor), on a visit to India, falls in love with Pallavi (Sridevi), who happens to be older than he is. Her age doesn't bother him. During a property dispute and a court case, Pallavi's father suddenly dies of a heart-attack. She is shattered. He goes to comfort her but finds out she was never in love with him, but with a pilot called Vinod (Deepak Malhotra).

Pallavi and Vinod get married and Viren leaves for London. A year later, Vinod and Pallavi die in an accident. She leaves behind a daughter, Pooja. Dai Ma (Waheeda Rehman) who had brought up Viren, also takes us the responsibility of bringing up Pooja. Pooja grows up to look like a replica of her beautiful mother.

When Viren sees her for the first time he gets a shock. Pooja falls in love with Viren, but Viren still loves Pallavi, and the memories of Pallavi never leave him. Pooja and Dai Ma go to London to Visit Viren. In London, they find that a lady called Anita (Dippy Sagoo) is pursuing Viren. Pooja eventually reveals her feelings to Viren. However, Viren does not reciprocate her feelings and decides to get married to Anita, instead. What happens in the end? Will Viren get married to Anita? Will Viren be able to forget Pallavi?
