Story
Until he was downsized, affable Larry Crowne (Hanks) was a superstar team leader at the big-box company where he's worked since his time in the Navy. Larry then heads to his local college to start over and develops an unexpected crush on his teacher Mercedes Tainot (Roberts).
Amiable superstar team leader Larry Crowne (Tom Hanks) has worked at a big-box company since his time in the Navy. When the company decides to downsize and Larry is let go, he finds himself with a lot of free time, and is inspired to go back to college.
He meets a colorful array of outcasts and also-rans, trying to build better futures for themselves. Larry's life takes an unexpected turn when he develops a crush on his teacher Mercedes Tainot (Julia Roberts) in a public speaking class. Although Mercedes is married, she's lost her connection with her husband. Larry finds that just when he thought his life had reached a dead end, he has hope for the future.
