Mahabharat 1965

Mahabharat is a 1965 Indian Bollywood musical film released on 1965. The film is directed by Babubhai Mistry, produced by A. A. Nadiadwala under banner named A. G. Films.

This movie is based on an epic written by Maharishi Ved Vyas. The Kauravas and the Pandavas were descendants of Dhritarashtra and Pandu who battled for supremacy. Duryodhan along with his maternal uncle, Shakuni and brothers always stood against the Pandavas which included Yudhisthir, Arjun, Bheem, Nakul and Sahdev. They also tried to kill the latter but were unsuccessful. Arjun won Draupadi in a 'swayamvar'. Along with Krishna and Indira,Yudhisthir founded his empire Indraprastha where Draupadi insulted Duryodhan. Duryodhan and Shakuni challenged the Pandavas in a game of gambling, where the latter lost everything including Draupadi to the former. They were then sent into exile. They were also asked to take up other lowly professions. After the tenure of the exile the Pandavas waged war against the Kauravas to win back their lost territory.
