Raja and his Mama are very close and best of friends. He has flunked several times and they stay in a village. He decides to come to Kolkata to look for a job with his uncle, and manages to get himself a job with false certificates. He fall in love with a girl Payel and marries her thinking her to be a crorepati’s daughter. He gets the shock of his life on his wedding day after his wedding is over when he discovers that she is the daughter of the crorepati’s gardener. He had high hopes of marrying a rich girl and his hopes are dashed. He starts working in the house of the crorepati on being recommended by his father-in-law. At a party one day when he is instigated by a certain person and his real identity is revealed, he gets drunk and reveals his real identity .He insults his wife and father-in law and they come to know he had married Payel with a motive. He goes away to his parents in his village who refuse ask him to go back. In the meantime Payel’s father wins a lottery and becomes a crorepati. When Raja goes to Payel, she asks him to go back and fetch her when he would be able to feed her with his own money. Raja starts toiling hard as a mechanic and that impresses Payel though her father is dead against this. Her fathers asks the doctor to give Payal’s child (yet to be born as she is pregnant) to an orphanage or to kill it. Raja comes to know about this and meets the doctor and asks him to give the child to him when he/she is born. The doctor does just that though Payel is under the impression she has given birth to a stillborn child. When she comes to know that her child is till alive (informed by Raja’s Mama), her father also decides to change himself. They land up at Raja’s house and though initially he relents, later he gives in to Payel’s demands. At the same time some goons backed by G.P ((the person who instigated Raja and Payel’s distant cousin) arrive there to make Payel’s father sign the paper which would state that all property would be handed over to him. When he refuses, there is a tussle where Raja prevails and he reunites with his wife.
