Man Ka Aangan is a 1979 Indian Bollywood family drama, drama film released on Nov 30, 1979. The film is directed by I. V. Sasi.
Aswathi is the daughter of Paramu Pillai, an agriculturist and a honourable person. Kesavan is a politician and an unemployed youth. Kesavan and Aswathi has grown up in same place. Each one likes each other. In simple terms they love each other. But Paramu Pillai do not wish to get his daughter married to Kesavan. . But Aswathi was married to Parameswaran a richman and big Agriculturist. Aswathi, Kesavan and mother of Kesavan, Karthiyani, all did not like this affair and they were all very unhappy. Aswathi realises that her husband Parameswaran is an impotent person. Young woman Aswathi finds difficult to control her urges. . One day Kesavan comes to Parameswarans house to see Aswathi. Aswathi tells Kesavan all about her marital life. They fall for each other and indulge in love making. This Aswathi gets bodily satisfaction from Kesavan. . Parameswaran enters the house, while Aswathi and Kesavan were making love. But he did not utter a word. He does not speak anything about this affair. This silence of Parameswaran makes Aswathi to feel guilty of her action. Finally she leaves Parameswaran and comes to live with Kesavan. . Parameswaran becomes a drunkard on account of his wife deserting him. Sadasiva Pillai, a business man of the same place has a heart for Aswathi but could not put forward his ambition because of his age gap. . Aswathi became pregnant. Both her father Paramu Pillai and mother brought her to their house for confinement. Paramu Pillai took a firm decision that he will not send Aswathi back to Kesavans house. . Aswathi was helpless. She could not say anything in the matter. Hearing the news Kesavan becomes furious. He got involved with a stage artiste and brought her to his house and they started living as husband and wife. Hearing this Aswathi became more sorrowful. She delivered a female child. The child was named after Karthiyani. . When Aswathis daughter completed two years of age, Sadasiva Pillai, opened the topic of marriage with Aswathi. Aswathi has to agree for this even though she could not love Sadasiva Pillai. He was prepared to give everything to her. But Aswathi could not think of any one else - other than Kesavan. She openly told Sadasiva Pillai that she cannot think of any one else except Kesavan. . Sadasiva Pillai felt dejected and at the same time felt compassions for Aswathi. He cursed himself. "Had I not married Aswathi, she would have perhaps lived happily with Kesavan". This imagination haunted him and finally one day he hanged himself. . Now she understood Sadashiva Pillai. But it is too late. She s started loving Sadasiva Pillai. She became more confused -- since he is no more. . Aswathi has completely undergone change. When Kesavan came to her house she drops him out of her house and mind.
