Manzil 1979

Manzil is a 1979 Indian Bollywood drama film released on May 14, 1979. The film is directed by Basu Chatterjee, produced by Jay.

This movie is about a boy who is young and has a good plan for a business of galvanometer along with a worker whose name is Drokelal. The boy named Ajay Chandra meets a girl named Aruna, who is a daughter of barrister Ghosla in their mutual friends wedding. They both meet each other for quite some time and fall in love. Aruna's parents also wanted their daughter to get married to ajay. Ajay never tells aruna's parents the truth of his financial condition whereas Ajay lied to Aruna and her family that he has his own house, telephone, business and his own car. Actually these all things belongs to Ajay's childhood friend Prakash (Sudhir Pandey). One fine day Ajay's co worker started taking bribe from there rival and started making wasted galvanometers. This leads to further financial loss for Ajay. Ajay in tension started taking loans from banks & his friend Prakash. Later barrister Ghosla comes to know about Ajay's financial condition through their mutual friend. By the time ajay tells his truth to Aruna. Barister Ghosla does not accept Ajay & tells him to leave Aruna forever alleging him that he is a lier & a fraud. Later barister Ghosla's friend who was a customer of Ajay tells him about the fact that his supplies were a waste & did not work property and wanted to charge a case upon ajay. Barister Ghosla takes up the case so that he cauld teach a lesson & take revenge against him. Will ajay loose or win the case? Will barister Ghosla accept Ajay as his son-in law? Will Ajay get success in his business ?

As the saying goes " In Bombay money floats in the air and all one has to do is catch it". . Ajay (Amitabh) believes this to be the essence of his struggle in life as he does not intend to remain in poverty all his life. This is why he does not want ordinarily paid jobs but wants to get into business. He floats a small business company and stakes everyting he owns into it in the belief that with the turnover he will one day become a rich man. . Just about then he meets and falls in love with Aruna (Moushumi) who is the only daughter of a wealthy Barrister. . Circumstances lead Ajay to tell an innocent lie to Aruna that he is a rich man and then with the fear that he might lose her he refrains from telling her that truth, to cover up his first lie. Thinking the lie would be beneficial as only in a few months he would aslo become a rich man and then he could disclose the truth. But due to some big businessmen Ajays get-rich-quick dream remains unfulfilled and instead of getting rich finds himself in the dock facing a charge of duping and cheating. .
