Mehbooba is a 1965 Indian Bollywood costume film released on 1965. The film is directed by A. Karim.
In the old feudal days, the Sheikhs harassments and atrocities had spread far and wide over the Country. His soldiers burnt and plundered every village and faerm which came in their way, so much so that it became next to impossible for the womenfolk of his domain to live in safety. So, whenever the news of the Sheikshs visit to a particular region reached the people of his domain, they became panicky and immediately the streets were deserted while the womnefolk were locked indoors for fear of being kidnapped. . At the tiem tat our story starts, the Sheikhs particular interest and the Apple of his Eye was the beautiful Azra, daughter of one Jawad, a wealthy old merchant, and to secure her, he arrives at the house of Jawad, only to be informed that Azra has pssed away into the Eternal, a long time ago. . As the Sheikh reluctantyl reurns he is informed by one of this spies that Azra was seen in the company of her lover Jamal in a far-away and lonely spot. This enrages the Sheikh, and he orders his men at any cost to arrest them both. . jamal and Azar are attacked by the Sheikhs men, but while Jamal is beaten and thrown in the desert, Azra is forcibly carried away by the Sheikhs men. As Jamal groans and languishes without hope of succour in the desert, Yusuf, a princely merchant who chances to pass by that way, spots and save Jamals life. After Jamal refains his consciousnes he narrates to Yusuf the dolngs of the Sheikh, Yusuf is moved to compassion at the plight of Jamal and promises him every help to avenge the Sheikh, ane expose his misdeeds to the Sultan. . When at first his pleadings and entreaties fail, the Sheikh threatens to torutre Azra, but dispite his ravigs, she is firm and refuses to bend ot his desires. At the height of his wrath and evil designs he is faced by Jamal and Yusuf. How they manage to bring the Sheikh in repentance to the feet fo Azra, froms one of the most thrilling.
