Milan is a 1967 Indian Bollywood romance, musical, social film released on Jan 01, 1967. The film is directed by A. V. Subba Rao, produced by L. V. Prasad under banner named Prasad Productions.

Orphan Gopikishan lives a poor lifestyle on the banks of the Holy River Ganga, makes a living ferrying passengers on his rickety boat, and is assisted by Gauri, another orphan, who hopes to marry him someday. But Gopikishan has given his heart to wealthy Radha, who lives with her dad, and step-mother, he takes a red rose everyday to her, teaches her to sing, and takes some lessons in English. He excels in his lessons and Radha gets an award. Then Radha's uncle, Rajendra, arranges her marriage with wealthy Prince Ram V. Rai, and Radha reluctantly consents. A heartbroken Gopikishan conceals his true feelings, sings during her marriage ceremony, and bids her goodbye. He looks forward to the Lakshmi Pooja celebrations when Radha will be visiting her family - little knowing that the Radha who will be returning will not be the same anymore, and he will soon be confronted by Rajendra, Gauri, and angry villagers who will eventually find out his true feelings for her.

Gopi is a young boatman who finds in Zamindars daughter Radha a missing link of the past and adores her as god sent to serve and be happy. They are drawn to each other for mutual enlightenment and consolation, but not for any physial union. So pure are thier hearts that their loves do not rave for the mundane. There is Gowri, the naughty village belle betwist them who is sincere to him. . Gowri is a care free girl, but firm in her love for Gopi. Gopis mission of life is to take Radha across the river to the college and back to Zamindars home. Gopi lives for these moments. Every day he offers Radha a fully blooing flower as a token to his love. His love is devoid of any lust or desire, it is as pure as the flower he offers Radha too likes Gopi. As it is her life at home is far from happy thanks to her step-mother Ramadevi and her sheming brother Raju who make the life of Radha and her father quite miserable. . From Gopi, Radha learns a folk song whih she sings in college contest and winds a prize. And she offers her garland to Gopi, to whom she owes her vitory, unmindful of Gowris caustic remarks. Her college mate Ram Babu son of another Zamindar also pines for her. Happy at Radhas succes in ontest, Gopi is glad to learn that Radha will be present at the folk dances festival in whih he is partiipating along with Gowri. The festival proves a very happy event, only Raju gets a beating from Gowri trying to be fresh with her. Radha is always freindly with Gopi and on his birth day she takes away his food leaving her own tiffin carrier for him. Gopi thinks thah she has taken his food by mistake. Radha admonishes him when he brings Ram Babus love letter to her. And little does he know that this letter would change the course of Radhas life. For that letter leads to the marriage of Radha with Ram Babu and the truth of his relationship with Radha dawns on Gopi on a stormy day when she seeks refuge in his hut. . When Radha goes away after the marriage, Gopi feels lonely, Radha. Gowri hides him and though Gopi is indifferent to her he saves her from being molested by Raju. Radhas ailling father years for his daughter. Little does he know that she has lost her husband and beome a widow Radha returns to her father. . Gopi meets Radha, onsoles her with his pragmati philosophy; but their meeting reated a scandal and of all the persons Gowri out of jealousy spreads that scandal foring Gopi to leave the plae for good. Radha rushes to stop him, and though her entreaties fail to dissuade him, they find that both of them are aught in whirlpool of scandal and as they try to escape from it, they get caught in the whirlpool of water.
