MURDER 2 offers edge of the seat entertainment, thus taking the MURDER brand forward. It's not a sequel in the true sense of the word. It has a completely new story to tell with fresh characters, is bolder and far more erotic, plus the clash between the good and the evil is one of the key components of the franchise. The Bhatts have a winner on hand!

On the whole, MURDER 2 is one of the finest crime stories to come out of the Hindi film industry. Also, as a film, it lives up to the expectations that you may associate from a sequel of a smash hit. This one’s bolder, more erotic and has a story that will astound and astonish you. The Bhatts have a winner on hand!

For all those who loved Murder, a word of caution. Murder 2 lacks the mellifluity and the passionate chemistry between the lead players. Of course, there are a lot of intense physical encounters between Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandes, but their relationship is essentially a lame duck, with Jacqueline begging for more (love) and Emraan insisting `Enough!' In fact, you even have the girlfriend groveling in the streets, pleading for his attention

There may be nothing original about the story, yet Murder 2 has enough to give the masses a mast time.

Murder 2 is not a pleasant film to view. The psychopath’s killings are done in graphic detail. The storytelling offers no respite from the brutality. Most of the time we are looking at happenings that we would rather not see. But see, we must.

An intriguing plot supported by a superb performance by Prashant Narayan, make MURDER 2 a ‘killer’ film.

Overall the movie is extremely violent and gruesome – if you thought Ghajini was violent then this one is ten notches higher. But Mohit, who has already dealt with the subject of human trafficking in Kalyug, manages to bring a new and different product for the viewers. Watch it if you have the guts. Stay away if you expect another Murder

There is absolutely no question that Murder 2 is inspired by the The Chaser, an edgy, tenacious Korean film about an ex-cop-turned pimp and a serial killer set in Seoul's more sordid neighborhoods. The makers of Murder 2 take the story and several key plot-related scenes and in an attempt to Bollywoodize it, end up piecing together a flimsy film that is neither as dark nor gritty as the original. Set in Goa, Arjun Bhagwat (Emraan Hashmi) is a hard-hitting

To be fair, Murder 2 is edgy, fast-paced and pretty punchy, but only in parts. Director Mohit Suri, whose work always seems to be more about flesh than soul, goes over the top, and then a bit further, with the love and lust story track featuring Emraan Hashmi and Jacqueline Fernandez. These gratuitous and desultory add-ons are devoid of any chemistry. They slow down the film and dilute its sinister air. Murder 2 gets two stars plus a half for its villain.

One simple question, Bhatt saab. You have written, produced and directed over 50 films and must have watched millions. Have you ever come across a movie — you do not seem the type who would sit through Guzaarish — where there is no story credit? Then why didn’t you put any story credit in Murder 2? Aakhir kahaani tapki kahaan se, sirjee? Maybe you simply forgot to put it. Or maybe you are wise enough to know that what you have been doing

Murder 2' checks all the boxes of an Emraan Hashmi-Mohit Suri-Vishesh Films production. Hashmi as the rebel-with-a-pucker. Tick. Lots of hot chicks, lots of butt-and-bosom, lots of sleaze, lots of spurting blood. Tick. Counterpointed by a virginal, fresh-faced young miss. Tick. One soulful ditty that keeps the music track busy, also to tell us that Hashmi is really this nice fellow who needs rescuing from his bad childhood. Tick, tick, tick

A good plot (lifted from another film) and a lovely performance by Prashant Narayanan could have made Murder 2 watchable, but shoddy writing ruins it. A shorter, slicker thriller would have been more enjoyable than the masala mash that is Murder 2.

Murder 2 is flat, boring and not worth talking about. Even Emraan, sporting less stubble than usual, seems babyfaced as he goes through the motions. It might be inspired by some obscure film, but I don't even care enough to look for its name. By now, I've come to accept that the Bhatts have a bigger DVD collection than me. I do wish they'd stop flaunting it, though.

Two films releasing this week. One a children's film, Chillar Party and another a juvenile film, Murder 2. Ex-cop Arjun Bhagwat (Emraan), with a perpetually bad wig hair day, walks around wounded and with an I-am-a-victim expression, because mind you, 20 long years back his family had committed suicide, for no fault of anyone's. And he generally hates God. However, he being a hero, he protects pimps, call girls and the likes, and gives away thick envelopes

"Bheege hoth tere. Pyaasa dil mera…" That's a popular Kunal Ganjawala song, most would know, from the commercial success Murder (2004). This is its supposed sequel. So the villain has the same track for his cellphone ring-tone, he sings it too, ending the stanza with, "Kitna mazaa aaya. Tere tukde karoon chaar (How much fun it'd be, if I chop you into four pieces)." Besides, Murder (based on Adrian Lyne's Unfaithful) was an aesthetically lit, coherently structured
