Nanhe Munne 1952
Hindi Jan 01, 1952 (India)
Story
Typical Dharmadhikari melodrama abotu a 12 year-old girl who raises her three younger brothers when their fathr runs away after committing a crime and their mother dies of shock. Several songs intensify the sentimental approach, e.g. Ai meli baap gela aata sambhali vithala (Mother is dead, father is gone, now were in Gods hands). The film suggests that its melodrama idiom is really a version of the saint film in a contemporary setting (of the formal similarities with Sant Dnyanshewar, 1940).
