Nayak 2001

Nayak is a 2001 Indian Bollywood costume drama, drama film released on Sep 07, 2001. The film is directed by Shankarsingh Raghuwanshi, produced by A. M. Rathnam.

The story starts with Shivajirao Gaekwad (played by Anil Kapoor). He is a cameraman and reporter for a TV channel. Shiva’s assistant is Johny Lever. He gets praises for his work of capturing footage. The footage actually shows how he helped a man from dying. After this, he gets a chance to interview chief minister Balraj Chauhan (played by Amrish Puri). But in this journey, he exploits the minister to a very greater extent. As a result of this, the chief minister tells him to handle the country for a day. Even Shiva accepts the challenge. So, he becomes a one day CM and then he does many challenging tasks for the country and also solves the difficulties of a common man. As a result of this, the CM looks to his matter very seriously. He starts creating obstacles for Shiva. But, Shiva is determined and he decides to enter politics. Later the common man elects him as the next CM of their country. But, his love life also gets hampered and in the end Manjari’s (love lady) father accepts his wedding proposal and blesses them.
