Siva (Vikas) is a mentally retarded person and begs in front of a temple in Sri Rangam. He goes wild after seeing fire in a yagna. A flashback begins. It reveals Siva as a bubbly young youth, who freaks out in the village with his friends. He comes across Anjali (Sonia Kumari), daughter of the local bigwig (Mahadevan). After initial misunderstandings, romance blossoms between Siva and Anjali. But the girl's father is against their wedding. He arranges for her marriage. Coming to know of it, Siva rescues her and takes her with him. He is chased by henchmen before he enters a burial ground to escape from them. There a sorrow occurs in his life and he loses Anjali. Vikas doesn't look like an amateur. He has played his part well. He excels in dance sequences. Sonia Kumari fits the best in traditional costumes. Sukumar, Mahadevan and Meera Krishnan are also good.
