Nishikanya is a 1973 Indian Bengali drama film released on 1973. The film is directed by Ashutosh Bandyopadhyay, music composed by Sudhin Dasgupta.

Sasanka(Soumitra Chatterjee) is an established doctor who is somewhat unhappy in his stable and staid married life. He gradually slips into an extramarital affair with a beautiful prostitute. They leave everything and move to faraway Kolkata to start new lives. At the city too they face hardships repeatedly and inevitably their identities get known and while the prostitute slips back into her profession Sasanka becomes a vagabond. The film has Sasanka as a narrator.
