Anees Bazmee is fast donning the mantle of the comedy king in commercial Bollywood. Having delivered big laugh riots like Singh is Kinng, Welcome and No Entry, Bazmee seems to be spinning box office magic in a style reminiscent of David Dhawan's oeuvre during the 1990s. There's a similar incoherence and a method in his madness as he spins implausible yarns that have just one objective. They want to tickle your funny bone, any which way

Unlike directors such as Priyadarshan, Anees Bazmi is a filmmaker who has consistently proven his mettle in comedy with some great comedies like Hulchul, No Entry, Welcome and Singh is Kinng. He has returned to the box office this time with another comedy called No Problem which boasts of a stellar ensemble cast. The first question we might all ask after watching the film is how did the four people responsible for the screenplay of the film

No Problem boasts of a huge star cast. It is delightful to see Anil Kapoor, who has been making news for his international projects, in a comedy after No Entry (2005) and Welcome (2007), both directed by Anees Bazmee. Gangster Marcus (Shetty), his mole Sophia (Chandra) and his henchmen have successfully carried off a multi-crore diamond heist. Two small-time thieves Yash (Dutt) and Raj (Khanna) rob a bank in Zandulal’s gaon

Anees Bazmee never ceases to surprise. Some of his most illogical films have gone on to become the biggest successes. Perhaps that gave the director the confidence to take his script for granted. And this time, Anees crosses all the boundaries to deliver a mish-mash in the name of comedy. The toughest part is to explain the film's story. Yash (Dutt) and Raj (Khanna) are crooks who loot a bank in a small town and run away to Durban

The one thing I've observed in Anees Bazmee's movies is that the plotline may be bizarre and outlandish, but each of his films has stood tall on the entertainment quotient. Perhaps, that's one of the reasons why his movies have struck a chord with a big chunk of moviegoers [read the hardcore masses]. The heroic triumph of NO ENTRY, WELCOME and SINGH IS KINNG endorses this statement. The most difficult thing is to make people roll with laughter

Here we go again. No Problem is the latest 'blockbuster' film, packed with middle aged stars desperately trying to be hip and funny, filled with stretched gags and elaborate action sequences shot in ultra foreign locations, all of which is helmed by a hit director trying to outdo the sheer absurdity of his earlier mish-mash successes. Naturally then with so much expensive talent involved, No Problem is full of problems, without any semblance of a story

Everyone in the film has a problem with someone else. The wife has a problem with her husband, boyfriend with girlfriend, friend with friend, cops with the crooks and audience with director. Yet the film is titled No Problem. You certainly don't expect that to be sarcastic since Anees Bazmee has preset his humour in the slapstick mode. Everything from the characterizations to the chronicle is patchy. So you have Suniel Shetty playing a powerless

A fumbling policeman plays Anil Kapoor here. At an early scene in this film, right after a group of goris in tanktops and black men in bush shirts have spoken fluent Hindi and lip-synched to songs for our pleasure, 14 bullets gets pumped into Kapoor, the South African cop's body. Doctors manage to remove 12 of these. Two remain stuck in his stomach. Doc says it's fine. Those bullets will merely give him giggles. 'Jhakas' Kapoor feels ticked

You know there is something fundamentally wrong with a film where Ranjeet -- yes, Ranjeet, the legendary rapist of the silver screen, the unquestioned icon of ravaging, pillaging and (izzat) looting -- is hidden behind facial shrubbery, given barely three lines of dialogue, and made to play a villainous henchman to, um, Suniel Shetty. Now that's just not on, Anees Bazmee. It is fast becoming the norm, thanks largely to Rohit Shetty and Co

This has to be the most ironic title ever. The problems never cease in ‘No Problem’, an unending series of the most unfunny, disjointed scenes masquerading as a film. Don’t go looking for a plot. There isn’t one. Don’t go looking for sense. There ain’t none. But that wouldn’t matter one bit if Anees Bazmee, who’s done so well with his previous forays into similar territory ( `No Entry’, ‘Welcome’, ‘Singh Is Kinng’), gave us a few laughs.

No Problem is so staggeringly brain dead and relentlessly tedious that it makes Anees Bazmee’s earlier comedies, Singh is Kinng and Welcome look like classics. In fact as I watched this incoherent patchwork of singularly unfunny gags, I decided that No Problem is even a few notches below Akshay Kumar’s stunningly awful Kambakkht Ishq. At least in that film, you could distract yourself with Kareena Kapoor’s outfits. This is the bargain

Just when you thought that with the year about to end the contenders for worst film of 2010 had been decided, along comes No Problem and beats all competition hollow. It’s a comedy that makes you grimace, squirm, yawn and do everything else but laugh. Imagine sitting with an audience for more than two hours watching characters do all they can to elicit even a little smile out of you, but all you hear around are groans, gasps, and snores
