Parvai Ondre Pothume 2000

Parvai Ondre Pothume is a 2000 Indian Tamil costume drama film released on Apr 15, 2000. The sole saving grace of Parvai Ondre Pothume is an impressive performance by Karan. Kunal and newcomer Monal (Simran's younger sister) have failed to deliver a strong performance. (Sadly, Monal committed suicide in April 2002). Manoj (Karan), a rich businessman, and Vinod (Kunal) are best buddies. Manoj makes Vinod manager of his three-star hotel and lavishes gifts on him. The arrival of a Tamil family from Calcutta to their neighborhood sows the seeds of trouble in the friendship. You see, the family includes a young girl Nita (Monal). Soon, both Manoj and Vinod are smitten with the young lass. But Nita ties the Rakhee thread on Manoj's wrist to his great distress and declares her love for Vinod. Once Vinod realizes that Manoj is in love with Nita, he decides to sacrifice his love on the altar of friendship. Unable to take Nita's rejection, Manoj goes berserk. As he gets to know about Vinod's relationship with Nita, the friendship comes under severe strain leading to Vinod quitting the job. Things come to a head when during an altercation between Manoj and Vinod, Manoj falls off a highrise building and becomes a vegetable.
