Pehchaan: The Face of Truth is a 2005 Indian Bollywood costume drama, drama film released on Jun 24, 2005. The film is directed by Sharbani Deodhar, produced by Raveena Tandon , music composed by Daboo Malik.
Swati Azad and Mridula are two best friends in college. Both do outstanding in their studies, successfully finish college and get wed to Ajay Lal and Milind Khanna respectively. Four years later, Prasad Saxena, another former alumnus meets with a pregnant Mridula and tells her that Swati has bounded suicide as she had lost her sanity. He tells her about the reason of Swati's death and his conjecture that she was actually killed by the Lal family. Mridula gets hold of a Swati's diary, interprets it, and compiles that the Lal family did kill Swati. She has the case restored, files various documents in Court, and has the Lals - Ajay and his father, Hasmukh, charged under section 302 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code. It is here that Mridula will find out that she has freed up a virtual Pandora's Box - for the advocate representing the Lals is none other than Deepak Khanna - her father-in-law. When Milind finds out he alleges Mridula of trying to rattle the Khanna family life, and tells her that she is losing her normality. Then, the story is full of mysteries and questions.
