It is one of the better shot and crafted Bollywood thrillers. It has obviously been inspired by the Hollywood films of the similar genre, true to a well-established Bollywood tradition assiduously and unashamedly followed by a majority of mainstream Indian filmmakers and top banners. The film is shot in UK but it is not touristy which is a plus point. The choice of locations and props go well with the story that has a 'shudh desi' and long forgotten reincarnation

Suspense thrillers in Bollywood are a much-abused genre, usually B grade dramas with zero suspense and zero thrills. There is hardly a film whose plot you aren’t predicting ahead with climaxes you can smell from a mile away. Which is why Phhir comes as a rather pleasant surprise because it is taut, inducing curiosity at every turn, and full of fresh ideas. While Phhir is still a B movie and fumbling in tech departments, the story and sceneflow is engaging

How does one express PHHIR in a line? Well, I'd say, whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. These lines actually sum up the plotline of PHHIR, a suspense thriller focusing on reincarnation. That's not all, for director Girish Dhamija affixes yet another track in the film which bears a striking resemblance to EYES OF LAURA MARS. Yet, with all the trappings that make a riveting thriller, PHHIR runs out of breath before it reaches the winning post

Some films, despite having common story lines, can keep their audience glued to the screen from start to end. Phhir is one such film, revolving around reincarnation and the paranormal. But one fails to understand why the movie is titled Phhir. It does not bring out the gist of the movie. Directed by Girish Dhamija (who has written dialogues for films like Gangster, 1920 and Dushman), and written by Vikram Bhatt, the film is based on the idea of karmic debt

Amongst the lessons I learnt while watching ‘Phhir’ was this : that old skeletons smell. Badly enough that people can just follow their offended noses, and fling open coffins where the body has been interred. For decades. That mediums need to lurk near SUVs in a shifty manner before getting in, gripping the wheel, closing their eyes and zipping back in time, to see howdunnit AND whodunit in rapid flashback. That husbands who are grief-stricken

The heroine of this film has a gift to see the past and future. Well don’t be surprised if while watching this film you suddenly have the inkling that you have been bestowed the same power. As not only will you find it easy to predict the twists and turns here, but also your past will continue to haunt you right from the time you decided to spend money on the ticket and watch this film. Set in the UK, the premise of the story here is rather simple and predictable
