Phoonk is a 2008 Indian Bollywood horror film released on Aug 22, 2008. The film is directed by Ram Gopal Varma, produced by Praveen Nischol , music composed by Amar Mohile.

The story of Phoonk is based upon the concept of supernatural powers. The movie starts with civil engineer and agonist Rajiv (played by Sudeep) who lives in Mumbai with his family of wife Aarti (played by Amruta Khanvilkar) and two kids, Raksha (played by Ahsaas Channa) and Rohan (played by Shrey Bawa), with Rajiv's mother and the housemaid Laxmi(played by Anu Ansari). Rajiv's most trusted colleagues are Anshuman (played by Kenny Desai) and Madhu (played by Ashwini Kalsekar), Due to some incidences, Rajiv humiliates his two friends. These two decide to take reprisal on Rajiv. Madhu notes that Rajiv is very affectionate of Raksha. Soon then a series of unusual events start to take place in and around Rajiv's house. Mandar (played by Bharat Kaul), who is selected to take the place of Madhu and Anshuman is killed at the construction site mysteriously.And each and everything in their house starts perturbing and there are sequence of some supernatural powers. The story is damn interesting to watch and is completely based on some thrilling and horror events.
