Pilpli Saheb is a 1954 Indian Bollywood film released on 1954. You will laugh, but it is true, this man Pilpli Saheb they call him, is AGHA. Wise man he thinks himself and a great lover too, in fact greater than `SHAHJAHAN and if the Emperor could then make one Taj Mahal, he can make ten in this Atomic Age. . Poor late Pilpli as you know could not build another `TAJ but for this you cannot blame Pilpli, he woud have done it, but that girl Rani she let him down, because she could never act up to his conception of `MALIKA MUMTAZ. . Meet this Pilpli, he is in love and to get his beloved Rani (played by Shyama)....he tries all his means, fair and foul, leaves his village, rides a donkey, cleans utencils, becomes a photographer, an actor on the stage.....a kind, a clown, a villain, a hero, all this to marry his Mumtaz, so that he may build ten Taj Mahals. But believe it before you laugh poor Pilpi never knew, that fate played the greatest joke with him because the giral Rani, the village girl, Shobha the stage reveals at the end that she is a married woman. . And so because there was no Mumtaz for Pilpli, no other `Taj for the world. . This is a funny story, right from the beginnign with agha the greatest lover and Shyama the poor girl who is not Mumtaz. Pran who is not a villain. Sunder, yes a comedian he is also in love with Kuldip Kaur. Togeter they create a dreaam land, a mad world. There are dances, songs, mirth and fantasy and when you least expect the drams takes a twist and sentiments and emotions grip. A married woman makes her husband-cum-lover throws her out Agha comes to her rescue and you laugh.....laugh now and then and thank Pilpli Saheb. He lived for you and......no be did not die.
