As far as the story is concerned I have more or less given up expecting anything novel in animation films. It is usually the underdog story who has to fight against a legendary champion (who also happens to be the ‘bad guy’), the underdog will also have a fear to overcome, he will also have a friend with whom at some stage there will be a misunderstanding but in the end all will be well.Read full review2.5

Planes, a spin-off from Disney Pixar’s Cars, is a genial but painfully familiar story of an underdog who chases his dreams, overcomes his fears and comes out a winner. It was originally meant to be a direct to DVD film. I think it’s wise to just wait for the DVD.Read full review2.5
