Story, Synopsis, Trivia, Dialogues for Punarjanma (1932)
Jadab Chakraborty was a insurer. He was a miser too. His wife Soudamini was not only beautiful but educated too. Her miserly husband made her life miserable. One day it was rumoured that Jadav Chakrborty was dead. The persons behind this rumour was Jyotish, Haladhar, Nanda and others. Jadab was desperate to prove the villagers that the was alive. But nobody believed him. Jadab’s sister’s husband Aswini suggested him to show the villagers his life – span was already finished. Aswini was a lawyer. He told Jadab not to go to the court as the court might declare him an imposter. Jadab’s sons started sharing the property as their father was dead. To his surprise he found that his wife Soudamini had started leading a widow’s life and Aswini was trying to marry the widow Soudamini. Even the doctor issued the death certificate of Jadab. Newspapers published the death news. At last police came. Aswini came in disguise of a police officer. Her made Jadab confess that he was no Jadab, he was Jadab’s brother Madhab. At last Jadab realised that misery is nothing but foolishness, and then again Jadab became real Jadab Chakraborty, but now a completely different man.
