Raees is a 2017 Indian Bollywood comedy film released on Jan 26, 2017. The film is directed by Rahul Dholakia, produced by Farhan Akhtar under banner named Excel Entertainment, music composed by Ram Sampath.

Set in 1980s Gujarat, it shows the story of a cruel and clever bootlegger (played by Shah Rukh Khan) whose business is highly challenged and eventually thwarted by a tough cop Ghulam Patel (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui).The film criticizes the prohibition of alcohol, prostitution and illegal drugs in Gujarat.The film is loosely based on the life of Ahmedabad-based Don Abdul Latif.
