Sujay was pursuing his post graduation. His father Abhay finalised his marriage with Vijaya. Sujay's elder brother Ajay had settled down with help from his father-in-law, which was not supported by Abhay. Maya was Abhay's younger daughter. Although she was married, she stayed with Abhay. Maya was tortured by her mother-in-law. Her husband Vikas was unemployed. Maya suddenly died in an accident. In the meanwhile Sujay suddenly met Ajay in kolkata. Ajay introduced Sujay to industrialist P. G. Mitter and his daughter Polly. Ajay provoked Sujay to get married with Polly. P. G. Mitter told Sujay that he would send him abroad to pursue his doctoral degree. After pursuing his doctoral degree Sujay came back to the village but didnt marry Polly.
