Laxmibai is the moneylender of the village. She is a very shrewd person. She has a daughter, Isha who lives her life. Laxmibai wants her daughter to get married to a rich businessman. But, Isha is firm on her place and she wants someone who is a simpleton, she loves Tukaram. He is man who hails from a very poor family. Laxmibai puts a condition in front of him saying that she’ll give Isha’s hand to him only when he earns 6 Lakh Rs within a week. He tries every possible thing to earn money, but it fails. Finally, it is Isha who gives him the amount. Now, Laxmibai puts another condition on him saying that he needs to spend the money within a week. This leads to trouble with Tukaram and indeed this leads to many hilarious situations.

Laxmibai is a rich money lender, for whom money is everything including God being a shrewd woman the entire village lives in fear of her. Irsha, her daughter is her only weakness, she dreams of getting her married to someone who has a shrewd business sense and a knack for making money.
