In spite of the handicaps, the film manages to largely entertain, because of its child-like naive approach and also largely due to some intermittent funny dialogues

Second Hand Husband is an impatient film. It wants to cramp the destinies of all its characters into one range of vision and quickly get them to sort out the marital mess that surrounds the storytelling like excessive topping in a pizza determined to have its fill.This is a filling but not quite fulfilling comedy remarkable for keeping the situations in the script funny without resorting to cheap attention-grabbing tactics.

…is not a film but an ideal recipe for a splitting headache. Watch it only if you want to punish yourself for all the sins committed in your last life.

I was here to see if Govinda’s daughter, whose debut this is, had the same zany gene in her. And to see how Gippy Grewal, Punjabi star, would fare in his first Bollywood outing. Within the first few scenes, it was clear that Tina Ahuja was a no-hoper. And that Grewal should go right back to doing what he does best.

There are a few surprise appearances in Second Hand Husband. They add to the experience of the film. But again, most of it seems like a fancy commercial movie gimmick. It actually does nothing for the story. But it does give fan boys a chance to root for the film. If you are a fan of punjabi movies, music and actors Second Hand Husband has the right trappings. Otherwise it’s all a bit too pointless.

I wouldn’t say it was a great film, but the effort was not wasted altogether. If you like clean, slapstick comedies, like me, you’ll probably enjoy it. But if you go in looking for logic and intelligent comedy, you’d be left disappointed.
