Story
It’s a love story with some supernatural basis. The story was told by a watchman to an author/writer(Subhendu Chatterjee) as flashback. Sudam (Tapas Paul) and Aloka (Debashree Roy) was in love with each other, but Aloka's father being a pandit refused to get her married with Sudam as he was a son of an artisan. Before his death, Aloka's father dedicated her to Gopinath and Aloka became a 'devdasi'. Raja (Victor Banerjee) brought Aloka to his palace as he was attracted to Aloka. But, when Raja came to know about the affair of Aloka and Sudam, he tried to kill Sudam driven by anger. Sankhachur (snake) always saved Aloka. But when she was shot and killed by Raja, Shankhachur struck Raja and he died. The unhappy soul of Aloka still travelled around the valley and kiledl. When the story ended, the author/writer discovered that the watchman was Sudam.
