Shikar 1968

Shikar is a 1968 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1968. The film is directed by Atmaram, produced by Atmaram under banner named Guru Dutta Films.

Naresh (Ramesh Dev) is murdered on the day he buys his mill. Ajay (Dharmendra), Naresh's employee while passing by Naresh's house senses something fishy when he sees Naresh's jeep outside his house. He informs Inspector Roy (Sanjeev Kumar) and also tells him about Kiran (Asha Parekh) who had met with an accident outside his house on the same day. As the movie picks up momentum, the mystery becomes more complicated. Naresh fails to give the proper evidence & this leads to the main suspense of the story.

Ajay Singh (Dharmendra) manages a private forest for his welathy friend Naresh Mathur (Ramesh Deo). When the story begins a man-eater tiger has killed one of the tribal women wracking in the forest and Ajay and Naresh follow the tribal people celebrate the killing of the tiger. . The same night as Ajay looks out of his bedroom window a jeep rushing past his house dashes into a tree and turns turtle. Ajay rescues the driver who turns out to be an attractive young woman. He leaves her conscious in his bed and goes to get the doctor from town, twenty miles away. As he is driving past Nareshs house he stops as he sees the broken gate at the entrance. Nareshs jeep parked outside the bungalow compound and bright lights in the house. He goes in and find that no servants are around. A little later he is shocked to discer the dead body of Naresh sprawled on the carpet of living room. . When Ajay returns to the scene of murder with inspector Rai (Sanjeev Kumar) they find clues suggesting that the murder was committed by a woman. However, when both of them go to Ajays house they find that the overturned jeep is no longer there nor the young woman whom Ajay had left unconscious in his bed. . As the story unfolds we are introduced to sevearal characters. Kiran (Asha Parekh) seems likely to be the young woman who was involved in the jeep accident on the night of the murder. Ex-police commissioner Sharma (Rehman), Kirans father, seems to have a strange interest in the investigation of the murder. Veera (Helen), who works as Nareshs secretary, also seems involved in several ways. Robbie (Manmohan) and his friends who have come for shikar in the forest are not there just for Shikar. Teju (Johny Walker), Ajyas servant apart from being friendly with the tribal chieftains daughter Madhu (Bela Bose) plays his part in solving the mystery of the mruder.
