Shubho Drishti 1962

Shubho Drishti is a 1962 Indian Bengali drama,family film released on 1962. The film is directed by Chitta Bose.

As the story begins, we find that a hospital by the name of Annapurna Sevashram is dedicated to the memory of Annapurna, who was a very well-known figure due to her benevolence. After her death, her family comprises of her husband and her two sons- Barun, the elder one and Arun, the younger one who is studying agricultural science.We find that Arun is a very fun loving character who is always playing one prank or the other. The family also comprises of late Annapurna's brother in law and his wife Pratima who plays a pivotal role in keeping the entire family well oranised. They have a son, Raju who also belongs to the family. Ramen was adopted by Annapurna as an infant when Ramen's parents died. Ramen has studied medical science and has now been given the prime responsibility of the hospital. Barun's marriage is being planned. Barun ,Arun and Pratima and her family visit the prospective bride's home. Sonali plays a prank impersonating her grandmother, but is finally caught by Arun. Her elder sister who is the prospective bride is liked by the entire family. The marriage takes place. Ddipali enters the family and presents the family members with gift. Arun says he will ask for his gift later. Sonali and her younger sister visits Dipali at her in law's place. Arun who was away for his studies ,returns and plans to hold back Sonali for a few more days. He is successful .They visit the family's farm house. Arun in the disguise of a scarecrow makes Sonali express her emotions for him but Sonali gets angry and tries to go away and to stop her, Arun ? illness. When he is caught, he is reprimanded by all. Finally Sonali and Arun express their love for each other. Their marriage is planned, but when the marriage cerrmony was going on, Arun faints.Blood oozes from his mouth. He is diagnosed with brain tumour. Tragedy be falls both the families. Ramen on the suggestion of his father, calls for a medical boark ? in the hospital .Arun meanwhile wants Sonali to forget him but Sonali comes to Arun's place. She is welcome as a bride and also takes vermillion from Arun. Arun suffers severe pain and is admitted to Annapurna sevasram. Doctor of the medical board thinks that it would be a risk to conduct the operation, but Ramen is determined. He performs the operation. With the help of the other doctors, the operation is successful.Arun is cured and he and Sonali finally marries him to the newfound joy of the two families.
