Son Of India 1962

Son Of India is a 1962 Indian Bollywood family drama, social film released on Jan 01, 1962. The film is directed by Mehboob Khan.

Kamla comes from a wealthy family and is the only child. She meets with and falls in love with Kishore, both get married, without approval of Kamla's dad, and are subsequently parents to Gopal. Shortly thereafter, Kamla finds out that Kishore has never loved her, and had married her only for her wealth. When confronted, Kishore does admit but only after being pressured by J.B. alias Jung Bahadur, who wants Two Lakh Rupees or he will abduct and kill Gopal. She leaves, becomes a nun, but ends up getting separated from her son. She goes home to live with her father, while Kishore becomes a homeless bum, & Gopal ends up with a foster mom. Years later both father and son are unknowingly re-united when both are arrested for stealing someone's wallet. Kishore accepts the blame and is sentenced to 2 months in Jail, while Gopal falls in the clutches of none other than J.B. himself, who is now standing for elections. In the meantime, Kamla, who still lives with her parents, meets and befriends a woman named Lalita. One day Lalita introduces her to fiancé - much to the shock of Kamla she finds herself being introduced to her very own husband. The question remains, will Kishore and Kamla ever get back together again, and what will be the fate of young Gopal?

Jag Bahadur (JB) was a smuggler. He appointed a young guy Kishore to attract the young and rich girl Kamala and grab her money. Kamala fell in love with Kishore and wanted to marry him but her father didnt agree. So Kamala and Kishore clandestinely got married. Soon they had a son - Gopal. JB forced Kishore to get the money but Kishore refused. JB threated them. Kishore kept Gopal with his dog Roma and tried to escape but JB kidnapped him. Kamala want to her father for help but he did not accept her. Kamala went to Dehradun with Gopal and Roma. There she got Gopal admitted in a school. After some years Kamala wrote a letter to Gopal where she mentioned his father. Gopal left home to find his father. In the meanwhile Kishore escaped from JB and one day they crossed each other's paths but could not recognise each other. Gopal with Roma's help came to know that Kishore was his father. JB tried to attack Gopal but finally he was arrested and Kishore got his wife and son back. Kamala's father accepted them all.

And thus, fatherless little Gopal had only his mothers teaching to lean upon. Never to beg, never to steal, never to tell lie and to consider God his personal friend: these were four guiding stars in his very young, very stormy life. . It is the story of a boy who, from class room to court room, was never afraid of speaking the truth. It is the story of a boy who, in his search for his father, went hungry for days but never thought of stealing or begging.
