Many a time, the problem with such heavy-on-message films is they get carried away by their own preaching. This film cautiously goes slow, emphasising on actions more than words. ..

My review of Take It Easy (2015) by bangreaayushi

The lost childhood! The movie ’Take it easy’ has been listed in the same categories movies such as ‘Stanley Ka Dabba’ and ‘Taare Zameen Par’. The movie has imparted a really strong social message about how a self obsessed childhood keeps those harsh memories within even after the child gets matured. Demands, expectation and desires are the three bottom lines of the story. The story’s mutual streamline is the focus on how parent’s only wishes turn their little memories of their children. The story starts with Ajay and Raghu who are two school going children. Both of them are good at the academics and are all rounders. They are burden with the so-called-competition word always. Nothing goes well in the second half while the first half is simply smooth. Ajay and Raghu, these two kids belong to the strong autocratic backgrounds. Their parents are firm determined to make them excel in every subject. But under all these strict and penalized streams, parents forget that their kids need a tension free childhood. A childhood that can be free from all those expectations and desires which they have been burdening them from years is what this story conveys you. Facing all these troubles, the kids decide to disrespect their parent’s wishes and behave on their own terms and conditions. Afterall, it’s the question of their lives. In this 90% hunt race, the children loose the rope of humanity and do something which wasn’t expected at all. But I question, why do we burden our kids with our own desires and expectations? Why can’t we let them live on their own terms? Why only authoritative relationship can make their future better? We sometimes don’t find solution of all these problems. But, this film conveys it all in 2 hours. The film has a good support of decent soundtracks, which are pleasing. Yeah, at some point you’ll realize that the film is not that better as ‘Taare zameen par’. But, still I would say that the film has depicted the reality and it is surely worth watching. Ajay and Raghu’s characters have swayed not only the kids but also to their parents. The movie in the first half runs very smoothly, but in the second half when the movie shows scenes of being slapped, this will surely make you cry. Monologue of Vikram Gokhale in the film leaves you mum for few seconds. The humor in the film will definitely make you smile once and will make you realize of all those goodtimes you shared as a child. The film also deals with the common stuffs that we as a child or kid have faced at every stage of the life…The exam fears! Competitive world and competition is also strongly used concept in the film. The film’s casting is good and even the dialogue narrations will make you glued up to your seats. It’s a must watch for both the parents and for the students too. The director’s sincere efforts in capturing all those emotions have seen clearly visible. It will make you move and will make you realize the importance of childhood for your kids.
