Seth Dhanpatrais desire was that his son Suraj should have excellent education and become a big man and that he should be married to a girl from rich reputed family. But often man proposes and God disposes. . In a college during the variety programme Suraj and Saroj took active part. The programme was successful and Suraj lost his heart to Saroj. At the wedding of his friend Ramesh, Suraj was shocked to hear a person commenting about Saroj. He said that when Sarojs mother never why should she marry! . Suraj left and Saroj followed him and cleared the misunder standing. Suraj promised to marry her. Meanwhile when his father came to know of this affair, he drove out Suraj from his house. The only person to rejoice at the separation of father and son was Shanti who had her eyes on her fathers fortune. . Suraj came to the city and got married to Saroj. He returned to his home town as the officer. Saraj carried her work as a doctor. They were happy Suraj was however unhappy because he could not participate in the wedding of his sister Leela. . One day his mother met with an accident. When she regained conscious- ness, she called for Suraj. Suraj was summoned but he had gone out to city. Saroj rushed, but she fell down. So before Suraj returned his mother died and his wife gave birth to a son. Suraj named him Nirmal- rai after his mother and father. . One day Seth Dhanpatrai came stealthily to see his grand son.
