Caution: Absurdity, illogicality and buffoonery scale new altitudes in TEES MAAR KHAN. If you thought MAIN HOON NA and OM SHANTI OM were smashing tributes to the wholesome entertainers of 1970s, Farah Khan's brand new outing TEES MAAR KHAN will make the most absurd, bizarre and wacky cinema of yore pale in comparison. Not just your cell phone, even your brain needs to be put on 'switched off' mode at the commencement

Farah Khan's films carry her unmistakable stamp of crazy humour, full-on entertainment and a deep emotional connect. They stand apart because of the way she combines the storyline with fine packaging and all-round gags. With Tees Maar Khan, Farah treads a new path as this time she relies mainly on the screenplay. Adapted from the Peter Sellers starrer After The Fox, the film is all about con man Tabrez aka Tees Maar Khan (Kumar) who's one of the most wanted

Farah Khan is indeed a fun-loving person with a pronounced sense of humour, as has been evident in her earlier films. If Main Hoon Naa had a delightful sense of fun permeating through the college campus where most of the drama unfolded, then Om Shanti Om used Bollywood's favourite theme -- reincarnation -- with a sparkling, tongue-in-cheek tenor that made the implausible end up as uproarious fun. Tees Maar Khan too is purported to be total fun

Director Farah Khan will stop at nothing to get a laugh out of you. No disability is too sensitive to make a joke of, and no stereotype too overused to flog one last time. In a scene from her new film 'Tees Maar Khan', a dark-skinned thief nicknamed Ismail Koyla who only commits robberies in the night, is finally arrested when his shining teeth give away his hiding spot. In another scene in which a movie is being cast, a toothless villager presumably suffering

Tees Maar Khan (TMK) begins with a pregnant woman watching a 1970s caper where the hero plays a thief. “Abhimanyu apni maa ke kok se yudh seekh kar aaya tha, tera beta chor bankar aayega,” her husband chides her. Cut to a shot of the foetus. It’s dancing to the tune of the chipmunk-styled Tees Maar Khan (the song you must have heard umpteen times over the past few days), even as it imitates what’s unfolding on TV. Cute, you may say.

Three things I didn't expect: Logic, realism or Shah Rukh Khan. Three things I did: Fun, Farah-styled humour and VFM entertainment. The conclusion I've arrived to is: Things that happen in La la la land, should, um, stay there? The reason I sound so utterly let down is: I lurrrve masala movies. To be more specific, I love Farah Khan's work. Be it Main Hoon Naa or Om Shanti Om, the lady just bombards the screen with pomp and show

There are some filmmakers who request, nay, demand a wilful suspension of disbelief. Farah Khan, on the other hand, sticks a revolver in your back and orders you to fork over your disbelief as you walk in the door. And even as our arms do obediently rise for Tees Maar Khan, they do so more to facepalm in whatmighthavebeen exasperation rather than applaud boisterously, as they did with her earlier films. Which is a real shame

In December 1966, legendary director Vittorio de Sica made a comedy called After the Fox, which starred Peter Sellers as a master criminal who pretends to be a filmmaker and under the guise of shooting a film, enlists an entire village in a grand heist. After the Fox didn’t find many admirers when it was released. The New York Times critic Bosley Crowther called it a clutter of nonsense. Incredibly, 44 Decembers later that phrase still holds true.

Farah Khan’s idea of a ‘holiday’ film — put together a world-infamous con artist, a Bollywood starlet, an Oscar aspirant, a bunch of naïve villagers, and befuddled policemen, then weave an absurd story connecting all of them. That is how you have this catastrophe called Tees Maar Khan. Tabriz Khan urf Tees Maar Khan (Kumar) is an internationally wanted con artist infamous for his "half-Robin Hood" act. He is arrested in Paris and put on a flight back home

Oh God, this is a terrible film; dragging, forced, so outdated and duh boring. Farah Khan, who has usurped the title of the new Manmohan Desai, is a master at marketing the so called mad masala film, but this time the hit director may have finally risen to her full level of incompetence. Tees Maar Khan is full of endless buffoonery. Farah Khan’s earlier two cornball ventures may have worked at the box office, but I am not so sure about this one.

Five minutes into the film, and I wanted to flee. At which point I decided to suspend every single critical faculty, lie back, and see where ‘Tees Maar Khan’ took me. And I am here to report that it propelled me to a place where I had to search long and hard for my brains, them having been bludgeoned into submission by an unending onslaught of puerile gags and harebrained characters defined by their stunningly slim lines, not too many and not too tough

A celebrated heist king Tabrez Mirza Khan urf (alias) Tees Maar Khan (Akshay Kumar) poses as a Hollywood director to a leading Bollywood star (Akshay Khanna, hilarious). The star’s dying to grab an Oscar some day. The fraud director calls himself Manoj Day Ramalan, as opposed to Manoj Night Ramalan (for Shyamalan), his better-known brother, who got named ‘Night’, for that's when he was born, and therefore he turned out dark in complexion

Tees Maar Khan is definitely a disappointment; but it will bring back the invested money and a bit more.
