Follow three simple rules while attempting a rom-com...One, the romance should be livewire. Ditto for the chemistry between the on-screen pair. Two, the movie ought to make the viewer chuckle. Three, it shouldn't fall prey to predictability. If you get the above-mentioned characteristics right, chances are you may be smiling from ear to ear on the decisive Friday. Okay, does TERE NAAL LOVE HO GAYA, directed by Mandeep Kumar, live up to the set standards?

Breezy romantic comedies generally thrive on witty dialogues and the chemistry of the lead pair. And Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya does have some crackling gags and one-liners. Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is one of those movies that you like for 10 minutes and then don’t for the next 10. The cycle continues for long. But the climax is fairly engaging and the man who makes it happen is Om Puri. His rousing speech is what gives the movie its last burst of vitality.Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is passable popcorn fare.

The film has its flaws. There’s over the top emotional drama, the drunken Genelia scene which is completely unbelievable and mildly irritating. Of course the film could have done without the forced item song, where Veena Malik’s artificially abundant bosom tries to charm and fails, but other than that, this one’s a fun, breezy watch. Don’t over analyse, don’t think too much, just go watch and have fun.

On the whole, TERE NAAL LOVE HO GAYA is refreshing and succeeds in its endeavor of amusing and entertaining, more particularly in its second hour. In addition, the sparkling performances by Riteish and Genelia is the mainstay of the film.

It’s meant to be their Guru. Their big blockbuster as a jodi. Their honeymoon hit. Almost a decade after they debuted together in Tujhe Meri Kasam — they did some Masti in the middle — Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza come together within days of their wedding with Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya. Simple, fun and with genuine chemistry between the lead pair to boot, Tere Naal... puts a smile on your face from very early in the movie and manages to keep it there

The story isn't exactly original or unique. Yet another romantic comedy, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is in many ways reminiscent of Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin, and the more recent blockbuster Jab We Met. Director Mandeep Kumar's film manages to steer clear of major pitfalls. The twist in the tale is unpredictable. The first half even with a very limited screenplay keeps the viewer engaged. Two youngsters, each one desperately wanting to escape from parental pressures

It's a sweet love story. A little too sweet perhaps. But handled impressively well, considering it is Mandeep Kumar's debut direction. Viren (Ritesh Deshmukh), is a rickshaw driver in Haryana. Minnie (Genelia) is from a rich family and she wants to escape from getting married to a no-gooder, so she forcibly gets herself kidnapped by hapless Viren. They in turn end up getting kidnapped by kidnapped by someone else. Ritesh doesn't suit the role of a Haryanvi

This one is an unusual love story. What sets the curiosity meter ticking is whether the now married couple's on-screen chemistry works. It does. This movie was shot while Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza (now Deshmukh) were courting, or rather when they had made it known that they were actually in love and not 'just good friends' as all were led to believe these past many years. What you see on screen are two actors completely in sync with each other

Some love stories are just so sweet, more so, when real life couples romance on reel. Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya is one of those. No extraordinary story or no unique formula, no major histrionics, yet, this romantic-comedy entertains and touches your heart. Mini (Genelia D'Souza) is an educated, fun-loving daughter of businessman, Bhatti (Tinnu Anand), who wants to marry her off to a rich jaat, Sunny Sunny in turn sees Mini as someone who can help him go to Canada

It’s as old as the hillocks. Filthy rich girl — as extroverted as those ziddi bouffant ladies from the 1960s — meets a wimp, and gets herself kidnapped. Why why why? Now don’t moan, it’s to escape an arranged wedding, complete with silk pillows and satin bedding. Truly, Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya directed by Mandeep Kumar could well be a harkback to those Asha Parekh movies in which the dear lady was constantly fleeing Prem Chopra-type of grooms
